Stop Teaching Math

Am I developing problem solvers by showing students how to solve problems?  I spent many years creating easy to follow step-by-lessons.  I am really good at it.  Just one small problem.  I couldn't figure out what future I was preparing them for by solving the problems for them.   I realized I didn't want my students playing follow the leader anymore, I wanted them to be the leaders.  I developed S.C.I.T.s (Scafolded-collaborative-Inquiry-tasks) so that students are the leaders in their learning
