Counting Collections in the K-2 Classroom

Counting Collections are for everyone - there is an entry point for all learners in your classroom to be successful mathematicians using this rich math routine. Students will develop foundational counting skills including 1-1 correspondence, stable order counting, cardinality, relative size and estimation.  Core Competencies are woven seamlessly into Counting Collections.   • Brenda Hrycan

    Brenda Hrycan has taught  Surrey School District, Chilliwack School District and in Perth, Australia.  She has 34 1/2 years teaching experience (Kindergarten - Grade 3), and is a newly retired teacher!   She has a great passion for teaching mathematics in a fun, engaging approach that shapes young mathematicians to become problem solvers, communicators, and creative thinkers!

  • Christie Fraser

    Christie Branson Fraser has her Masters of Education in curricular studies and has been teaching primary in the Surrey School District for twenty years. She finds joy in empowering children to be independent problem solvers and in building their capacity to love themselves and others. She loves teaching math and is constantly inspired by the creativity, beauty and brilliance of the mathematical minds of children.
